Report on Supper Quiz 8 February 2014

Again, after a slow start in ticket sales, there was a last minute rush.  All in all there were  96 of us on 10 tables - some of us cosier than others!  It’s fantastic to have so much support from families and friends.

It was great to have some ‘visitors’ too.  There was a team from the Harrow Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, who were the beneficiaries this time.– they came top of the results table!  We  also had support from fellow Rotarians from Pinner, Radlett, Northwick Park & Harrow in Europe .  .

Once again we had raffle prizes from Waitrose, M & S, Sainsburys, Debenhans, Tesco,Carpenters Park Garden Centre and Rotary members (listed below).   Our thanks and appreciation go out to all for their continued support and generosity.

As usual the food was up to its very high standard and our thanks to Colin and Maureen and their helpers for their efforts and to Tony and Jane for supplying glasses, drinks and table cloths, and for running the bar.

And thanks to Gary as MC and for his technical skills ensuring there were no hitches.

Quiz-masters Jonathan and Elayne did  their usual sterling, efficient job finding all sorts of unusual rounds for us  and managing to keep everyone under control.

In total we raised £1781.50, including £375.00 from the raffle and £205.50 from the bar (less expenses of £680.44  giving a net profit if .£1100.62).

The winning table No. 7 was  the MS team and each of whom received a box of After Eight mints.

Once again thanks to every who helped before with setting up the room, clearing the tables during the meal and clearing away after the event, as it couldn’t take place without them.  A real team effort!
